In this passage of the prophecy of the Messiah from Isaiah nearly 800 years before the birth of Jesus we receive a double teaching on Who Jesus is. We see Him as a child born of the virgin Mary, a child fully human and yet…We also see a Son, the Son of our Heavenly Father conceived by the miraculous conception when the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary. This was not a sexual union but rather a spiritual union where the DNA of God fused with the DNA of Mary, the descendant of King David, and brought to life the Christ Child within Mary’s womb. Fully God and fully man, an incredible one-time event bringing hope and life to all who will believe. Do you count yourself among believers?
